THE ANOINTING IS DIVINE FLOW

God is a giver of many gifts!  One of those special gifts that God has given us is “the anointing”.  When you look at the definition, anointing means to “smear or rub with a substance”.  Basically, in the Old Testament, we see the practice that when something was dedicated to the Lord’s service, it was “anointed” with oil as a prophetic symbol.  Afterward, the item was considered God’s; for His use.  Such item was set apart from mere earthy functions so that the presence of the Lord could come upon it allowing God’s divine power to be released from it.

We are a triune being and have three parts: spirit, soul, and body.  Believers receive the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit in their human spirits and now become the “Temple of the Holy Spirit”.  As the Holy Spirit comes to dwell within the believer, our human spirit receives “the anointing” — or better said, our human spirit is smeared and rubbed with the substance of the Spirit of God.  Now, with the anointing of the Holy Spirit, you can powerfully walk in the spirit (live life victoriously by being led by God). 

• Body: Was formed from the earth; our earth-suit.  The body is the “physical expression of the soul”. 

• Soul: The part of you that came into existence when the spirit given to us by God had contact with the physical body.  This is the invisible expression of your being. 

• Spirit: Comes from God and serves as the “spark of life”.  This is the divine substance from God that releases and quickens life to you.  This is that part of you where the Holy Spirit dwells and releases His anointing (a divine substance to hear God’s voice) into your life. 

Picture the human spirit as a window to heaven.  It is within us and its function is to allow a “back and forth” with God and the realm of heaven into our lives.  When we were unbelievers, the window wasn’t really open for spiritual interactions. Although we did receive from heaven (life, breath, etc.), there was no spiritual interaction.  Once we became believers in Jesus, the window was opened widely (from our end…as it is always God’s will for that window to be open) and now the Holy Spirit moves through that window freely connecting both heaven and earth into our lives. 

This is important to know because, without the anointing of the Holy Spirit, we would just express OURSELVES in the earth realm.  Every human being on the face of the earth has God-given giftings and talents to fulfill their earth assignment.  However, operating without the anointing limits us only to the expression of our intellect.  Can we still do good?  Yes.  Can we benefit mankind with our gifts and talents?  Absolutely!  However, this will leave us severely lacking the supernatural power to accomplish what God wants us to accomplish. 

Think of Jesus who released the power of God everywhere He went.  People were healed, demoniacs were delivered, sinners received forgiveness.  These were but a few of the miracles that occurred wherever Jesus showed up.  How did He manage to live life so successfully that it translated into the power of God being released continuously?  He described the secret to His power as living life led by the Holy Spirit, or in other words releasing the anointing! 

“Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.”  (John 5:19)

Jesus learned to listen and watch to see what the Father was saying and doing, and then He released it on the earth.  Through the anointing of the Holy Spirit, Jesus was able to accomplish that.  The good news is, you have the same anointing of the Holy Spirit.  It is the will of God that you too learn how to connect with the anointing of the Holy Spirit within you and release it by obeying what God tells you to do. 

Do you need to obey and follow the anointing within you?  No!  God doesn’t desire robots.  He rather has yielded vessels who want God to flow through them.  The more you listen to the voice of God, the more you’ll realize that the anointing of the Holy Spirit within you is teaching you how to connect more with God.  As a result, the supernatural can now flow through your life. 

Do you want to release healing to the sick?  Do you want to prophesy life to the dry bones?  Do you want to see your city restored to God?  Do you desire to walk in a close relationship with God?  Tap into the anointing within you.  It is a DIVINE FLOW that releases the wind of God into your life.  That divine flow will lead you to where to go, what to do, how to pray, how to show love, how to defeat the devil, how to understand the Scriptures, how to prosper, etc.

God didn’t just give you giftings and abilities, He also gave you the gift of THE ANOINTING to release SUPERNATURAL POWER FROM HEAVEN!  Tap into your DIVINE FLOW!  Make a commitment to live life from the voice of God and not the voice of you’re intellect.  This will cause you to shift into true divine power.
