WHY WE DISCERN DEMONIC ACTIVITY

Many prophetic believers wonder, Why do we discern demonic activity?  The premise behind that question is, because we are prophetic, we should only see those things the Kingdom of God is promoting.  However, we must remember that in the second heaven (the spirit world) there are ranks of demons that have been plotting and planning to destroy the human race since before we were born.  The answer is simple...to undo the works of darkness.

"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."  (Ephesians 6:12)

Where are these demons according to this Scripture?  In the HEAVENLY PLACES!  There is what looks like a city above every city here on Earth.  This city above in the spirit world is a place of demonic strategy and warfare.  The demonic spirits will try to find a way to bring chaos on the land by looking for legal ground to that land.  There are 4 things that give the devil legal ground to our land:  

1 - The shedding of innocent blood
2 - Broken covenants
3 - Sexual immorality
4 - Occult activity

Once one of the preceding occur on the land, the demonic spirits have permission to release their strategies on our land.  These sins are a way that we welcome demonic spirits to work their treacheries against us.  Now, can you picture these 4 sins in our country today?  They seem to be almost everywhere.

Shedding of innocent blood (abortions, homicides, etc.); Broken covenants (Native Americans, broken political promises, divorce, etc.); Sexual immorality (adultery, promiscuity, perversion, etc.); Occult activity (witchcraft, channeling, fortune-telling, etc.)  These activities seem to occupy every corner of our land.  Can you imagine the open doors that these demonic spirits have to assault us from their perches?

The reason why we discern demonic activity is because as believers in Jesus Christ, we can DO something about it.  Although there is sin on the land, and although the demons have an open door, we can step in with authority as children of God, and intercede for a deliverance of the land and of people.  We must have our armor of God on to be ready to undo the powers of darkness.

If you find yourself discerning demonic activity, don't get into fear.  Get into faith and know that it's because God wants you to DO something about it.  Draw strength from the verse that says, "If God be for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8:31.  

Get involved in praying for your family, neighbors, city, state, nation, the whole world.  When you discern demonic activity, understand that God is giving you a call to intercession.
